Community Service Project

Matt was looking for a 20 hour community service project, so he checked out a need to fill a low spot and cover a rooted area on one of the McCormick Forest Park trails.  He obtained tools and began work July 15, 2004.  He loaded rock material that had been raked off a recently cleared area into a wheelbarrow.  He then took this down a long path to the low spot.  By July 16^th noticeable progress was being made.  On July 19, he had some fill clear across the low spot.  On July 20^th he added more fill, raked it smooth and compressed it.  On July 21, Matt completed the job by covering the rooted area and Vernon signed the paper work.

The trail between K and J is now in better shape because of Matt’s work and it is being used by hikers and runners.
