On August 30 th, 2008 the Peninsula Youth Football Pee Wee Seahawks members Matthew, Dawson, Tolin, and parents Dennis Carter, Dan Black and coach Ric Hallock and son Kolton volunteered to pull ivy at Wollochet Bay Estuary Park. They completed 12 hours of community service. Thank you!

Bryce Pollan volunteered to clear off the black berries on PenMet Parks property near the corner of Wollochet and East Bay Drive.
Peter Timboe is helping to control ivy at Wollochet Estuary and at the same time fulfilling a high school senior project requirement. He is working on a written report concerning the history and effects of ivy on native plants and getting first hand experience on what it takes to control the ivy.
August 12, 2006, 12 members of the Baha'i Faith spent 1.5 hours pulling ivy. Their hard work is much appreciated.

The morning of Park Appreciation Day, April 22, 2006, EnviroCorps members lead 38 volunteers working to control blackberries, scotch broom and ivy on the Wollochet Estuary Park property. Bruce Macdonald led a group that opened up the path from the road down to the water.

Steven Nelson family and friends loaded cut debris on a trailer and hauled it to the recycle center while others pulled scotch-broom and cut black berries on the south portion of the park. Betty Young manned the check- in table and supplied workers with water and goodies donated by Costco.

In the afternoon, Erik Lund lead eight members of the Wollochet Sailing Club in removing more black berries. Photos were taken and some garbage was removed from the property and beach.

We appreciate all the work of the families from the LDS church, Great Peninsula Conservancy members, the Wollochet Sailing Club, and supporters of EnviroCorps. A total of 46 people participated and worked 108 man-hours in support of Park Appreciation Day activities at this park.

And let’s not forget the PenMet staff that worked so hard in coordinating and preparing for this day.

Thank you all!
