WCCW "A Team" Improves the meadow at McCormick Creek Forest Park

Volunteers are steadily making improvements in McCormick Forest Park off of Bujacich on the Gig Harbor Peninsula for public use. A small clearing in the park has been designated as a family picnic area. However, in the last several years this clearing has become infested with Himalayan blackberries. They have been cut down several times, but pop right back up. The ground was also uneven and needed to be smoothed out.
On February 21, 2004 , Ray Hitt of Ray's Custom Landscaping, Inc. volunteered to do the job. He arrived at 9 am and began to work by removing a stump and berry pile in the clearing. He then skillfully removed many of the blackberry roots and smoothed out the uneven ground. By 12:30 he had completed his work.
We thank Ray for volunteering his equipment and skills to do this job. Water features & Rockery specialties are Ray's interest. Give him a call at (253) 405-6991 if you need some landscaping done.
