Thank you to all who help maintain McCormick Forest Park

The park is located on Bujacich Drive NW on the Gig Harbor Peninsula in Washington State.

Litter Patrol Ahead signs were purchased with a grant through the Pen Met Parks Enhancement Grant Program.

Keeping our parks and roads free of litter is a high priority for EnviroCorps.

On April 12th, about 45 people of the 62d Logistics Readiness Squad at McCord Air Force Base did a tremendous job of widening and rerouting a trail so that maintenance equipment will be able to access more of the park.

Thank you to all that participated.

Four young men from Charles Wright Academy led by their instructor Ryan Johnson improved the I to U trail section by rerouting the trail beside a tree that had fallen down the path. They also widened and smoothed a section of trail that had many roots in it and removed storm debris off the path.

As an Eagle Scout project, Parker Nelson organized the construction and delivery of two picnic tables to McCormick Forest Park. They have been placed in the meadow near trail post G. We thank Parker and his crew for providing these tables for public use and enjoyment.

Windermere Realty volunteers met at 9 a.m. Friday June 16 th to complete a section of trail and install the U post at McCormick Forest Park. People had to hike into the work area where they contoured, widened and leveled the path. After a short break, the group hiked out a different route, clipping foliage encroaching on the trail and digging up roots in the path as they walked. Everyone then met at Jerisich Park for a well deserved lunch.

Thank you to all the Windermere people who participated in improving our parks. We hope you enjoyed doing it.
